Particle Detectors and Accelerators

How can you see something that is smaller than lightwaves? Well, you can’t—not without particle detectors. In this physics lesson, Es Einsteinium explains and illustrates different types of particle detectors, the best of which being bubble chambers and spark chambers. CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) uses these kind of machines in order to prove the existence of illusive particles such as the Higgs boson!
